Morette¡¯s style headlamp retrofit project

Here I would just like to share the DIY steps I took in carrying out my project with all sifus ¡­ any comments or questions are most welcomed ¡­

Items required ¡­
1 pair of eagle eyes halogen / projector headlamps
1 pair of BMW E46 Bosch ECE D2S Projectors
1 pair of Bosch H3 mini projectors
1 set of D2S HID kit with bulbs
2 pairs of round foglamps
1 pair of mini foglamps
1 reliable custom fiber/bodykit guy
1 reliable spray shop guy
Screws and nuts of various sizes depending on your needs
Some simple power tools
Silicone glue
A whole lot of time
A hell lotsa¡¯ patience


First ups ¡­ I had to source out sellers for the all famous BMW E46 Bosch ECE projectors ¡­ this is where I found a friendly and reliable seller in www.HID.com.my ¡­

The BMW E46 ECE D2S Projectors



Here is the projector unit taken apart



Just for fun ¡­ I spruced things up to bring the recond projectors back to life ..



After taking apart the eagle eyes headlamp (btw I am using the halogen based ones) u will find a bracket where the halogen reflectors sit ¡­ I am seen here preparing the base for mounting the main headlights / D2S Projectors



Here is where I cut a hole into the high beam halogen reflector to use as a base to mount the H3 mini projectors ¡­



After the hole is cut out ¡­ smooth the edges with a gentle grinding tool ¡­ u may even use a file for this part



Here is how I mounted the mini projectors to the halogen reflector base ¡­ oh yeah I hand sprayed the halogen reflector base black after cutting out the hole ¡­



Here is how the inside of the headlamp looks after both projectors has been mounted onto the light height adjustment bracket ¡­

Continued ¡­ part 2

The next BIG step .. sacrificing 2 pairs of good foglamps just for their front lens ¡­ make tubes out of fiber glass ¡­ cut holes in the cover of ure headlamp and put em¡¯ all together as below .. if u dun have much experience with fibre glass I really recommend you get the help of your custom bodykit shop buddy ¡­



My headlamp covers after I got them back from the sprayers ..



Putting the headlamp back together ¡­ I used common industrial silicone to seal the headlamps off ¡­ it is much more stronger and durable ¡­ however I still recommend the use of ¡°Bostik¡¯s windshield silicone¡± as it won¡¯t evaporate through the drying process and stain ure new shiny lens ¡­



Finally ¡­ the arrival of my recond ¡­ Automotive Lighting (AL) D2S HID kit with Phillips 4350k bulbs ¡­ sweet ¡­



Summore simple wiring DIY to get the power supply wires fitting my Eagle eyes H7 power socket base ¡­. and vuah-lah ¡­



HID ballast mounted on my ride ¡­ with DIY brackets ¡­



And last but not least we are ¡­ DONE ¡­
